How It Works
Reporting & Disputes
  1. What if there is a Dispute in the Reported Results?
When players report and there is a discrepancy they receive an email warning them that they have 24 hours to resolve the situation. After this time if the dispute is not resolved, all players are refunded their points and each player receives a 'strike' on their personal profile. After accumulating three or more 'strikes' in challenges, a player is automatically banned from the 'Challenge Room'. The strike, comment and feedback score left by the banned player will be removed from his/her opponent's personal profile.
  2. Can a STRIKE ever disappear from my record?
Yes, after five (5) successfully completed challenges with different players, your 'strike' will be expunged from your history. We define different players as players you have not played within the last week.
  3. What happens if I accumulate three STRIKES?
You are automatically suspended and banned from entering the 'Challenge Room'.
  4. What happens if I forget to report?
If you forget to report a challenge, then we consider your opponents reporting to be final. It is up to each user to report if they wish. So if you don't report and your opponent does, the challenge will close based on their answer.
  5. What about Multiplayer Reporting?
Multiplayer reporting works the same way. The team leader or captain who entered the challenge will need to submits their teams results.
  6. How do I resolve my dispute quickly with my opponent?
The key to successful resolutions when you are in a dispute is direct communication between both parties. However, from time to time, misunderstandings do occur. Here are some tips that can improve your ability to work the dispute out before the deadline:
    • Presume good faith from the other side. Don't go into a dialog with your opponent assuming they're acting unfairly, or unreasonably. Usually problems are a result of simple miscommunication or mistaken assumptions. Make it clear to your opponent from the start that you see the situation as resolvable, and that you don't assume they've acted with bad intentions. They will usually reciprocate, and you'll work out the vast majority of problems.
    • Focus on the problem, not the person. Talk about the dispute you want to resolve and potential solutions, not your assessment of your opponent character. It may feel temporarily satisfying to "tell off" your opponent if you think they've acted in an inappropriate manner, but it almost always makes the situation more difficult to resolve.
    • Threats and insults almost always backfire. Every GorillaGamer's reputation is dependent on feedback left by their opponent. Threatening a member with negative feedback or insulting them usually stiffens their resolve and makes them less accommodating and cooperative. While leaving negative feedback is sometimes appropriate, resorting to harsh measures too quickly can make the situation worse than it is. Try to use negative feedback as a last resort.
    • Look for creative solutions. Think of win-win solutions where both you and your opponent get what you're looking for. Believing that any gain for you is a loss for the other side leads to a combative, me-versus-you situation.
    • Remember the broader picture. Instead of getting caught up in the emotions of the moment, remember this is just one challenge among many more to come in the future. Looking at the situation through the eyes of your opponent may help you understand the perspective from the other side. Keep your perspective and you'll be much better off in the long run. Consider your reputation as your most valuable asset.
  7. Can I get a STRIKE in a Free Challenge?
Yes, though a strike will not affect your Player Rank, it will be posted on your Profile and available for the community to view which could hurt your chances of getting into a challenge. Three (3) strikes received in either a Cash or Free Challenge will suspend you from the Challenge Room.
